Gabriela Gusmão, brazilian artist, immersed in the poetry of extemporaneousness. Her work traverses the relationship between nature, urban space, and the temporal dimension, embracing the unencompassable through video, photography, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, performance, and interventions. She concentrates as much on the rhythm of natural cycles as she does on the flow of the crowd in public spaces.
She discovers the world through active observation through the streets of cities in Brazil, as well as in other countries where she has participated in residencies and exhibited her work in group and solo shows, including in Portugal, Romania, Spain, France, Italy, the USA, Cyprus, Germany, and the Netherlands. She lives in Nova Friburgo, Rio de Janeiro. Gabriela works in transit down a two-way street, engaged in a peculiar creative process where solitude and multitudes, silence and polyphony, time and eternity, form the twin tracks of her balance.
